Art Development Colored Pencils
Young Artists Class Grades 6th-12th
Mondays at 4:30 - 6:00 PM

This is a Young Artists Class intended for Grades 6th-12th. Learn color theory and how light affects color with Color Pencils. We will cover many topics like color blending, complimentary colors, color value and color pencil techniques. Don’t worry, that’s just the technical description. How we’ll be learning all that is by coloring people, animals, animated movie shots, our own illustrations and much more. This is a ZOOM class.
Required Materials
Strathmore Bristol Board
Color Pencils (Set of 24 or more. I use Prismacolor)
Either Alcohol markers or watercolor paints

Acrylic Painting Natural Elements
Adult Class
Mondays at 1:00 to 4:00 PM
with Instructor Nicole Lee
In this class, we will take on the common, natural elements that are seen most often in landscapes through techniques with acrylic paint. Learn tips and tricks on mastering trees, clouds, flowers, hills, valleys, and many more. Follow the instructor as we all create our own version of a common image. We'll spend 1-2 classes on each painting. This is an on-site class.
Suggested Supplies

Kidz Clay
Young Artists Class Ages 7 to 9
Mondays at 4:30 to 6:00 PM

Join us as we explore the basics of three-dimensional art with hand-building clay projects. Students will gain a better understanding of shapes, textures, and lines through classic sculpting techniques such as pinch, coil, and slab. We will create a project in the first week and paint it the following week and repeat it. This is an on-site class.

Introduction to
Oil Painting
Adult Class
Tuesdays at 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

This class is about the knowledge acquired and the fun involved with creating an oil painting. You will learn how to develop a painting from start to finish, with a focus on preparing the surface, creating an interesting composition, and getting the image onto the canvas. We will also discuss and practice the application of paint, along with the proper use and care of materials. We will go over practical matters such as the economics of purchasing materials, as well as how to get into art shows and proper framing. Class critiques will be encouraged. During these sessions, I encourage any questions or discussions concerning oil painting, because I too am continuously learning from others. This is an on-site class.

Palette - a disposable paper pad or wood (recommended)
Odorless solvent - small container of Gamsol
Paint medium - Liquin Original (smallest bottle available)
Container for holding solvent (for brush cleaning)

All Media Drawing
Adult Class
Wednesdays at 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Drawing proficiency is important for all artists, whether highly skilled in a medium of choice or, just beginning on a creative journey. This class is for all levels. Each class includes demonstrations in various mediums, techniques, and art theory, with ample time for individual practice. On the first day of each new session, a still life will be arranged and, using charcoal, I will sketch the set-up while discussing working methods. This class may also be used by those seeking independent work time and space with input from a fellow working artist. This is an on-site class.
Required Supplies
Charcoal (either pencils, sticks, or powdered, including white if you have it)

Charcoal or pastel paper (I used toned Canson pastel paper)
Chamois
Backer board and masking tape (to keep the paper rigid and in place)
