2025 Board Elections

The elections for the 2025 - 2027 members of the Board of GNAL will be held the week of April 28. Only current paid members and those with a Lifetime Membership are eligible to vote. Non-members may join as a member prior to the election to cast their votes. All members over 18 part of a household membership may vote.

Officer Elections

Vice President:

Brittney Byrnes, incumbent, is running unopposed for re-election. Brittney is a contemporary artist, feminist, sci-fi enthusiast, writer, and cat mom. A classically trained artist with a BFA from Moore Art and Design College, Brittany enjoys exploring different methods and has dabbled in a wide range of mediums, including oils, watercolors, papercraft, sculpture, glass, and digital design. Her work has earned her several awards, including the Cetlin Design Group Award for Excellence in Design.

Secretary position is currently vacant with no candidates. Board will seek to fill the position with an interim in the 2025-2026 year with an elected term in 2026.

Treasurer position is currently held by an appointee. A candidate will be sought to fill the position in an interim in the 2025-2026 year with an elected term in 2026.

Managing Directors

Managing Directors Fran Matthews and Michael Wrigley will be stepping down as per the by-laws having served 3 consecutive terms. We thank them for their years of dedication and service. Their departure leaves 4 vacancies.

Andrew Campbell, incumbent, is seeking his second term as a managing director. Andrew is a Financial Advisor with over 15 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry as a Registered Investment Advisor, and has spent a large portion of his career as a Consultant representing various Bank Investment Programs. Prior to starting a career in Finance, Andrew owned/operated a small entertainment company, photographed sporting events for Lifetouch National School Studios, and studied commercial art, drawing, painting, photography, and videography at The Eastern Center for Arts and Technology as well as Montgomery County Community College.

Ratna Gandhi is seeking her first board position. Ratna teaches clay, paper, fiber arts, and summer camps at GNAL. GNAL was also her first teaching assignment after moving to the area. She also teaches at Whitemarsh and Main Line Art Centers. Ratna is originally from India where she obtained both a BA and a Masters in Art, specializing in
sculpture. After living in Israel and Vancouver, Canada where she was very active in the art scenes, Ratna and her family moved to Blue Bell. Her artwork is featured in galleries around the world.

Henry Leshner is also seeking his first board position with GNAL. Already an avid volunteer with GNAL, Henry is from Philadelphia but lived in San Francisco early in his adulthood where he attended art school. He returned to Philadelphia where he took up graphic art before getting into the lighting business where he served in several leadership positions. After retirement, he pursued his passion for art by taking both on‐site and on‐line classes, his main focus being oil painting.

Bylaws

The following are the proposed changes to our bylaws:

  • Official adoption of Youth Ambassador to the Board for 1 year term

  • Set minimum volunteer requirements for Board Members to 5 hours/month average

  • Expiration of Lifetime Membership as changed below:
