All Media Painting

The focus is upon composition and using colors that match the values of the scene. Artists of all experience levels are welcome, using any painting medium.

Doug will be doing demos in pastel and oils during the class that focus upon drawing evocative compositions, the effective use of underpaintings, and how to match your color selections to the desired value ranges for the scene. Doug will be helping each artist individually during these classes.

Please bring your painting media supplies along with electronic or printed photos of your favorite subjects for your use. Any media is fine, including chalk pastels, acrylics, oil, watercolor or color pencils.

The first class will begin with color theory, later classes will demonstrate the use of underpainting to establish values, color selections that match the desired values, and then proceed to the finishing touches to complete a painting.
